I See You by Clare Mackintosh is disturbing but thrilling.

Every morning and evening, Zoe Walker takes the same route to the train station, waits at a certain platform, finds her favorite spot on the platform, finds her favorite spot in the car, never suspecting that someone is watching her...
It all starts with a classified ad. During her commute home one night, while glancing through her local paper, Zoe sees her own face staring back at her, a grainy photo along with a phone number and a listing for a website called findtheone.com
Other women begin appearing in the same ad, a different one every day, and Zoe realizes they've become victims of increasingly violent crimes-including rape and murder. With the help of a determined cop, she uncovers the ad's twisted purpose...a discovery that turns her paranoia into full-blown panic. For now, Zoe is sure that someone close to her up as the next target.
And now that man on the train--the one smiling at Zoe from across the car--could be more than just a friendly stranger. He could be someone who was deliberating chosen her and is ready to make his next move...

POST MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS.

Do you ever get the feeling that someone is watching you?  Do you ever feel like the hair is standing on end at the back of your neck?  Maybe someone is watching you.

Zoe Walker is a single mother to two children, Katie and Justin. Her boyfriend, Simon, moved in a while ago, he works in journalism.  Justin and Simon do not really care for each other, that causes stress in the household.

Katie, an aspiring actress, has a part in a play, she falls for the director, Issac. Zoe doesn't really trust Issac and she is afraid Katie is falling to fact.  Justin, having been in trouble in his middle/high school years, works for the next door neighbor.

When Zoe sees her photo in a classified ad, she points it out to her family and friends thinking one of them might be doing it as a prank. They all assure her the photo isn't her but someone that looks close to her. Zoe, however, is 100% sure it is her.

Zoe notices that every day the paper has a different picture of yet another lady. She pieces together that some of the women have been victims of a sexual assault or robbery. As the violent acts turn into murder Zoe starts to panic.

Kelly and Nick, the key detectives on the cases, start digging to find out who is behind the ads in the paper. As they chase one lead after dead end lead, they slowly pick through the clues.

As Zoe's paranoia/panic, they rush to find out who it is.

With a surprising ending, that yes I figured out before I even got close to the end of the book, Mackintosh leaves us at the end with a setup for a sequel to this book.  The writing is solid, at first one might think she is wasting too much time in describing Zoe's life, you realize why it was so important in the final chapters.

Make sure you take the time to grab a good warm cup of tea, a comfy spot to read in and settle into this disturbingly eery tale of I SEE YOU !!!!

this is me....

When I was growing up, in a small town in Kansas, Saturdays were the days I looked forward to.   My mom would take me with her to the beauty parlor, I would venture across the street to the library. As you would walk into the two story old brick building, the smell of history would waft up as the door would swoosh open and closed.  A faint smell of mold or mildew, mixed in with the other mysterious smells were like a comfortable pair of shoes I would slip into. The librarian, Miss Jane Blades, always welcomed each and every patron with a "Good Morning" and when she seen it was me, she would just smile.  When I was the younger girl, 2nd or 3rd grade, she would have books picked out for me based on the level she knew I could read.  As I got older she had projects for me to do, in case I got bored, or too loud, but mainly it was to make me feel special.  The two story building, made of brick, was like my castle.  Tucked in the wooden shelves, we...
