My top January Pick: Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough

Hair-Raising!!! Spine Tingling!! You don't want to miss Behind
Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough.

David and Adele seem like the ideal pair. He's a successful psychiatrist, she is his picture-perfect wife who adores him. But why is his so controlling? And why is she keeping things hidden?
As Louise, David's new secretary, is drawn into their orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But Louise can't guess how wrong--and how far a person might go to protect their marriage secrets.

I cannot thank Sarah Pinborough and Flatiron Books enough for my advanced copy of this book for an honest review.  All I can say is, after reading this book, I am almost afraid to go to sleep at night.  Told between Adele and Louise narratives with a final surprising narrative you will not see where this book is heading.  The #WTF ending has me still, almost three weeks later, shaking my head and going I didn't see that happening in the least.
I fell totally in love with the character of Louise. She is a recently divorced mother to a little boy. Adjusting to being divorced and single, Louise tends to have a pity party with her cheating married friend Sophie, She knows she needs to lose a little weight but hasn't had the energy too.   With not wanting to give away spoilers, I can honestly say this is a book that will keep you thinking, weeks later, how that happened?

Pinbourgh has taken psychological thriller to an all new height.  This is one that a die-hard psychological thriller lover will not want to miss.

Thanks again to Flatiron Books and Sarah Pinborough for an ARC for an honest review.

this is me....

When I was growing up, in a small town in Kansas, Saturdays were the days I looked forward to.   My mom would take me with her to the beauty parlor, I would venture across the street to the library. As you would walk into the two story old brick building, the smell of history would waft up as the door would swoosh open and closed.  A faint smell of mold or mildew, mixed in with the other mysterious smells were like a comfortable pair of shoes I would slip into. The librarian, Miss Jane Blades, always welcomed each and every patron with a "Good Morning" and when she seen it was me, she would just smile.  When I was the younger girl, 2nd or 3rd grade, she would have books picked out for me based on the level she knew I could read.  As I got older she had projects for me to do, in case I got bored, or too loud, but mainly it was to make me feel special.  The two story building, made of brick, was like my castle.  Tucked in the wooden shelves, we...

I cried, I giggled, I cried some more...Wish Me Home by Kay Bratt brings it

Wish Me Home by Kay Bratt A hungry, stray dog is the last thing Cara Butter needs. Stranded in Georgia with only her backpack and a few dwindling dollars, she already has too much baggage.  Like her twin sister, Hana, who has broken Cara's heart one too many times. After a lifetime of family troubles, and bouncing from one foster home to another, Cara decides to leave it all behind and strike out alone-on foot. Cara sets off for Florida to see the home of her literary hero, Ernest Hemingway, accompanied only by Hemi, the stray dog who proves to be the perfect travel companion.  But the harrowing trip takes unexpected turns as strangers become friends, who make her question everything, and Cara finds that as the journey unfolds, so does her life--in ways, she could never imagine. Kay Bratt has written children's novels and eleven other novels but this is the first cross-over into contemporary women's fiction and I can say she crossed over and staked her claim....
